Relay for Life gearing up with party

A kick-off party for Relay for Life of Costa Mesa is planned for Wednesday afternoon.

Hooters, 1507 S. Coast Drive, will host the 6:30 p.m. event, which will feature free appetizers, cancer-survivor speakers and prizes.

The Costa Mesa chapter is hoping to have 60 teams to coincide with the city’s 60th anniversary.

The organization’s team captain meeting is at 6:30 p.m. March 19, followed by meetings April 16 and May 21. All are at the Costa Mesa Senior Center, 695 W. 19th St.

Committee meetings follow each captain meeting. Details are available at https://www.relayforlife.org/costamesaca.
