Marina Robotics Club takes tops

The Marina High School Robotics Club is the winner of the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition Las Vegas Regional.

The tournament tool place April 4 to 6.

This is the second year of the Marina team which won the Team Spirit Award at the 22nd FIRST Robotics L.A. Regional Competition in Long Beach.

In Las Vegas the 27th ranked Marina team was chosen by the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams to joined them in the quarterfilnal, semifinal and final rounds. They emerged the winners.

The Dos Pueblos robotics team won the Las Vegas Regional FIRST Robotics Competition on Saturday, its second regional win of the year.

First place was shared by th e D’Penguineers of Dos Pueblos in Goleta, Calif.; the Ravens of The Waterford School in Sandy, Utah.

The 35 members of the club are led by physics teacher Thomas Zook and club President Matt Wallingford and Vice President Arman Afghani.
