A car rolled over and another vehicle hit two parked cars in separate crashes late Monday and early Tuesday in Laguna Beach, according to police.

Police arrested two men on suspicion of driving under the influence in the incidents, Sgt. Louise Callus wrote in an email.

The first crash occurred at 10:03 p.m. Monday on Park Avenue when a black Volkswagen Passat rolled over, Callus said.

Huntington Beach resident Ricardo Berge, 18, who was outside the car when police and firefighters arrived at the scene, was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, according to Callus.

“The vehicle was coming downhill, which is a steep one that has curves,” she said. “The driver lost control, hit the curb, and the car flipped.”

Berge and an 18-year-old passenger were transported to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with injuries, police said.

The second crash happened at 12:19 a.m. Tuesday on South Coast Highway when a white Scion heading south veered into opposite lanes and crashed into two unoccupied parked cars, a red Nissan Cube and a white Ford Mustang, causing moderate damage to all cars, Callus said.

Laguna Niguel resident John Cole Von Hoogenstyn, 25, had a bruised hand and was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, according to Callus.
