Pidio “Pete” Anthony Martinez

Pete was born on November 8th, 1957 in East Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Hacienda Heights, California with his parents Elpidio and Betty Martinez, along with his siblings Emelynn, Esther, Vincent, Paula, Victor, David and Kelly. Pete attended Glen A. Wilson High School.

Pete’s first born child, Elpidio Anthony Martinez II, was born on August 2nd, 1976 in La Mirada, California, as well as his second son, Daniel Ray Martinez on February 6th, 1978. Pete worked at Owens & Minor as a distribution manager for 20 years, where he met the love of his life, Laurie Anne Nieto.

Pete & Laurie married on July 16, 1994 in Nipomo, CA. Through their marriage they joined two families, Pete and his sons with Laurie and her daughter, Nicole Ann Siwiecki and son Ryan Paul Siwiecki. On January 11th, 1996, Quinton Scott Martinez joined the family. In 2001, Elpidio married Erin and gave Pete his two grandchildren, Kaitlin and Madison. Pete & Laurie built a life and home together in Huntington Beach, CA.

For the last 13 years, Pete worked as the Operations Manager at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA. He selflessly volunteered for many community projects sponsored by Hoag. Pete and his family were very active members of the St. Simon & Jude parish.

Pete died peacefully in the home that he built on October 12, 2013.
