Village Entrance workshop set

The public is invited to provide input on the proposed Village Entrance Project during a workshop at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 in City Council chambers, 505 Forest Ave.

The current plan calls for a four-level parking structure and pedestrian park near Laguna Canyon Road and Forest Avenue.

The council wants to hear opinions about various options for the Village Entrance site, especially considering recent moves by the city to acquire the property at 725 Laguna Canyon Road, according to a city news release.

Delia Horwitz, who successfully facilitated a 2005 workshop that resulted in the relocation of the Corporation Yard, the public works facility, to the Act V parking lot, will guide the discussion.

Participants should be prepared to suggest goals and why those goals are important to the community.

Artist studios open to public

The next Artist Open Studios event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Laguna Beach.

More than 30 artists, mainly in Laguna Canyon, will be opening their studios and offering hands-on demonstrations and insights into the creative process, a city news release said.

The artists work in a variety of media, from glass blowing to bronze welding.

Participants can park for free and catch a free shuttle from the Act V parking lot, 1900 Laguna Canyon Road.

The city and lodging establishments fund the event, held the first Saturday of each month until March 1.
