Man convicted of illegal sexual conduct with teen
A Stanton man was convicted Wednesday of engaging in illegal sexual conduct with a teenager he met on Craigslist and then in person at Bella Terra in Huntington Beach.
An Orange County Superior Court jury found Mark Aime Brosseau, 57, guilty of one felony count each of lewd acts upon a child, contacting a child with the intent to commit lewd acts and meeting a child with the intent to engage in lewd conduct, according to a news release from the Orange County district attorney’s office.
Huntington Beach Police Department officers arrested Brosseau on Sept. 25, 2010 after observing suspicious activity and discovering him with the 14-year-old victim in his truck. Brosseau was partially undressed from the waste down.
He faces a maximum sentence of five years and four months in state prison and a mandatory lifetime sex offender registration at his sentencing scheduled for Jan. 24.
