Animal shelter closing for a week
The Laguna Beach Animal Shelter will temporarily close to the public beginning Monday, the Laguna Beach Police Department said in a news release.
The closure will last through Nov. 17 as crews resurface the kennel floors, which were unhealthy for the animals because they were rough, at the facility, 20612 Laguna Canyon Road, according to the release.
Residents can still contact shelter staff by coming to the police department front counter, 505 Forest Ave., where staff members will answer questions and issue licenses.
The shelter’s phone line — (949) 497-3552 — will be forwarded to the police department as well.
Animal and field operations will not be affected by the closure and will operate as normal, the release said.
