Vera B. Krueger September 1, 1919 - January 21, 2014

Born Vera Benton Boatwright, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Grady Lee and Vera (Benton) Boatwright. Married August 10, 1940 to Rudolph E. Krueger in Los Angeles. Settling in Burbank, CA in 1944. Vera was one of the few women of her time to get a pilot’s license. She involved herself in the Burbank PTA and other civic organizations.

With a Sea Scout background Vera & Rudy sailed in races to Hawaii and along the Mexican Coast. They moved to Corona Del Mar, CA immediately following the 1967 Trans Pac sailboat race to Hawaii. Vera volunteered for the “Friends of the Library” and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Master.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990, her parents, and a sister, Jeannie Toye of Portland OR. She is survived by two sons, Ernst (Lynn) Krueger of Houston, Texas and Bill (Maureen) Krueger of Orange, CA, grandson Ernie (Jennifer) Krueger of Aliso Viejo, CA, three greatgrandchildren Mia, Marlowe & Micah, sister-in-law, Ruthie (Arthur) Krueger Wehl, three nephews and one niece.

Interment was in Sherman, Texas with her husband on January 25, 2014.
