Fallen power lines cause fire at Port Restaurant
Downed power lines caused a small fire at a Corona del Mar restaurant Monday morning, authorities said.
The power lines fell after a power transformer blew in the area just after 10 a.m., said Sgt. Brad Miller of the Newport Beach Police Department.
The fire was contained to the awning of the Port Restaurant & Bar, 440 Heliotrope Ave., and extinguished quickly, he said.
No one was injured, but several nearby homes and businesses reported power outages.
Miller said Southern California Edison has been notified.
