Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong surprises ‘American Idiot’ cast in Costa Mesa

The Green Day-based musical “American Idiot” held its closing performance Sunday at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, and a surprise guest made an appearance: Green Day’s lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong.

According to the “American Idiot” Twitter page, “Costa Mesa had some of our best audiences yet, and quite possibly our favorite audience member: [Billie Joe Armstrong].”
