Reader Report: Scouts tour police, fire stations

On Jan. 14 the Wolf Den of Cub Scout Pack 35 of Laguna Beach had the privilege of visiting Fire Station No. 1 and our Police Department.

Firefighters gave the Scouts a lesson on fire safety, what it was like to wear firefighter gear and what to do in a building during a fire.

Community Services Officer Nikie Hernandez led the Scouts through the police department’s booking room, jail cells and 911 emergency-response dispatch center. The Scouts’ last stop was to pay respects to our town’s two fallen officers at the memorial just in front of the police station.
