For the returning vets

The new Huntington Beach nonprofit Honorable Recharge has partnered with tattoo artist Hek at The Tattoo Gallery to raise money for veterans services.

The group supports veterans and educates the community about the challenges they face when they return from service, according to a news release.

Hek, of Huntington Beach, will design a T-shirt bearing an interpretation of the nonprofit’s logo, and 100% of the sales through April 15 will go to Honorable Recharge. The link to the shirt is mainandpch.com/marketplace/hek-interpretation-tee.

Harper’s helping hands

Huntington Beach Mayor Matthew Harper helped deliver meals on March 21 to homebound seniors as part of the Meals on Wheels program’s Community Champions Week.

“The city of Huntington Beach is a great partner with SeniorServ, helping us to care for Huntington Beach’s elderly, homebound residents,” said SeniorServ CEO Holly Hagler.

Champions Week encourages mayors and other local elected officials to help out with the meal program.

In addition to preparing and delivering the meals, SeniorServ offers adult day healthcare programs and other services.
