Breakdown: Edison is the designated home team in the 52nd edition of the Battle for the Bell rivalry game against Fountain Valley ... The Chargers, who are 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the Sunset League, have owned the rivalry in recent years, winning their last 14 meetings against the Barons (3-5, 0-3). They lead the series 36-14-1 … Edison, ranked No. 7 in CIF Southern Section Division 3, enters the Sunset League game in a three-way tie for second place with Los Alamitos and Newport Harbor. The Chargers can clinch second place in the league with wins in their final two league games. They play at Newport Harbor on Oct. 31 ... Edison rebounded from a loss to first-place Corona del Mar with a 41-15 victory over Huntington Beach last week. Boyles threw three touchdowns, two of them to Nico Brown ... Fountain Valley lost 42-7 to CdM last week and is out of the Division 7 top-10 poll for the second straight week, though the Barons are still among others receiving votes ... The Barons are tied for last place in the league with Huntington Beach, who they play next week in the league finale ... Anderson needs 80 receiving yards for his first 1,000-yard season.
