Breakdown: Huntington Beach travels to play against Los Alamitos in a Sunset League game ... The Oilers (1-7, 0-3 in league) are trying to snap a four-game losing streak and have lost their three league games so far by a combined 124-24 ... Huntington Beach gave up 34 points in the second quarter last week in falling 41-15 to Edison, the Oilers’ fifth straight league loss dating back to last season ... McCormick forced one fumble, recovered another, and Bova was in on two sacks for Huntington Beach ... Los Alamitos (3-5, 2-1), among others receiving votes in CIF Southern Section Division 3, is coming off an impressive 44-3 road win over previously undefeated Newport Harbor. The Griffins, who are in a three-way tie for second in the league with the Sailors and Edison, rushed for a program-record 497 yards ... Sophomore Josiah Murray had 194 yards rushing and three touchdowns, while senior Jaiden Mitchell carried for 183 yards and a score ... Los Alamitos has blanked Huntington Beach in its last three league games, earning a 38-0 win in 2016, a 35-0 win in 2017 and a 47-0 triumph last year.
