High School Roundup: Edison field hockey advances to Tournament of Champions semifinals

The Edison High field hockey team defeated visiting Glendora 3-0 on Tuesday to advance to the semifinals of the Tournament of Champions.

The Chargers (14-4) will travel to take on Studio City Harvard-Westlake on Thursday at 5 p.m. The winner will advance to Saturday’s final at West Hills Chaminade High at 4:30 p.m., while the loser will play in the third-place game at 2:30 p.m.

Huntington Beach 0, West Hills Chaminade 0: The host Oilers moved on to the semifinals of the Tournament of Champions by winning 3-1 on penalty strokes.

Huntington Beach (21-3-1) will play host to Newport Harbor on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Newport Harbor 3, La Verne Bonita 1: The visiting Sailors (15-7) advanced to play Huntington Beach on the road in the semifinals of the Tournament of Champions on Thursday at 4 p.m.
