College Roundup: Vanguard women’s soccer shuts out Menlo
Karla Navarro scored two goals to lead the Vanguard University women’s soccer team to a 4-0 win in Thursday’s Golden State Athletic Conference match at home.
Kelsey Bryant and Marielisa Hallam each had one goal, and Ayanna Suarez dished out an assist for Vanguard (10-2-2, 6-1-0 in conference).
Haley Magana made three saves, and Mariah Rodriguez stopped one shot in a combined shutout effort.
MENS’ SOCCER
Menlo 2, Vanguard 0: Noa Kerr and Giovanny Gomes scored for the visiting Oaks on Thursday in a Golden State Athletic Conference match.
Tim Staerz also had two assists for Menlo.
Vanguard is 10-5-0 overall and 5-2-0 in conference play.
