Breakdown: Marina’s historic season continues as the No. 2-seeded Vikings (9-2) host Ontario Christian (9-2) in the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 11 playoffs ... Marina routed Laguna Hills 42-8 last week in the first round, the Vikings’ first playoff win since 1985 ... A win Friday would put Marina in the semifinals for the first time in 34 years and give Marina double-digit wins in a season for the first time since 1981 ... Vikings junior running back Brantt Riederich had a big game against Laguna Hills, with 103 rushing yards and three touchdowns ... Ontario Christian, which finished as the Ambassador League runner-up, beat Riverside Poly 41-14 in the first round ... The Knights have won five straight games and are averaging 38.4 points per game this season ... Ontario Christian is primarily a running team and has attempted just 59 total passes in its 11 games ... The winner of this game plays either No. 3-seeded Pico Rivera El Rancho or Hemet in the semifinals.
