High School Roundup: Fountain Valley girls’ basketball beats Costa Mesa

Kat Luu had a game-high 18 points with two three-pointers as the Fountain Valley High girls’ basketball team defeated visiting Costa Mesa 57-25 on Tuesday in a nonleague game.

Sandy Lam, Zoe Ziegler and Margaret Tengan each scored six points for Fountain Valley (6-6).

Tarah Harmon had eight points and six rebounds for Costa Mesa (2-8). Lorelei Hobbis added six points and 10 rebounds.

Corona del Mar 46, Irvine 32: Trasara Alexander led the Sea Kings with 14 points in Tuesday’s nonleague game at home.

Makena Tomlinson added 11 points for CdM (8-4).

Mission Viejo 42, Newport Harbor 36: Willa Rath finished with eight points, eight rebounds, three blocked shots, two assists and two steals in the Sailors’ nonleague game at home on Tuesday.

Cydney Jover had eight points, two assists, two steals and one block for Newport Harbor (7-4).

Beckman 61, Marina 21: The host Vikings fell to 2-7 after Tuesday’s nonleague game.

Santa Ana 36, Laguna Beach 23: The host Breakers (6-7) dropped their third game in a row in Tuesday’s nonleague contest.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Corona del Mar 79, Covina 60: The Sea Kings improved to 7-3 after Tuesday’s nonleague road game.

CdM plays against San Clemente on Friday at 6 p.m. at Tesoro High.

Ocean View 66, Anaheim 47: The Seahawks improved to 6-5 with Tuesday’s result in the Loara Tournament.

Estancia 58, Rancho Alamitos 45: The Eagles (9-3) snapped a two-game losing streak in nonleague play at home on Tuesday.

Los Amigos 57, Norwalk Glenn 36: The host Lobos (4-6) won their second nonleague game in a row on Tuesday.

Covina Charter Oak 63, Marina 54: The Vikings dropped to 6-6 with Tuesday’s nonleague result on the road.

Adelanto 59, Costa Mesa 42: The Mustangs (2-10) lost their sixth straight game on Tuesday at home.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Newport Harbor 6, Ocean View 0: Skylynn Rodriguez and Sadie Pitchess each had a goal and an assist for the Sailors in Tuesday’s nonleague home match.

Mikayla Downey, Alyssa Sims, Kenna Robar and Reese Bodas also scored for the Sailors (7-1), ranked No. 6 in CIF Southern Section Division 1. Stella Gaffney, Nicole Laz and Ande Siegel each had an assist, while goalkeepers Jessica Gardner and Itzia Rivera combined on the shutout.

Ocean View fell to 4-4.

Fountain Valley 2, Woodbridge 0: Alyssa Rubio and Lacey Ruston each scored for the Barons in Tuesday’s nonleague home match.

Summer Khalil hand an assist for Fountain Valley (5-1), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division 2.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Costa Mesa 10, Trabuco Hills 4: Sey Currie scored six goals for the Mustangs in Tuesday’s nonleague match at home.

Kira Anderson scored three goals for the Mustangs, and Hanna Jackson added one goal.

Goalkeeper Dharma Andreas made nine saves for Costa Mesa (7-3), ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division 5.

Ocean View 11, Fountain Valley 3: The Seahawks improved to 3-2 after Tuesday’s nonleague match at home.

Fountain Valley is 5-8.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Silverado St. Michael’s Prep 3, Pacifica Christian Orange County 0: The host Tritons fell to 1-5 following Tuesday’s nonleague match at Vanguard University.
