Los Amigos’ Eliezer Baldovinos, Richie Tran earn top honors for Garden Grove League boys’ water polo

Los Amigos High sophomore Eliezer Baldovinos has been named the Garden Grove League Offensive MVP in boys’ water polo, and junior Richie Tran earned the Most Valuable Goalkeeper award.

Baldovinos and Tran helped Los Amigos (8-19, 4-0 in league) win the league title. The Lobos advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs, where they lost 20-7 to eventual finalist Trabuco Hills in the first round.

Los Amigos seniors Max Nguyen, Mauricio Vasquez and Luis Sanchez also earned first-team accolades.

Lobos senior Jonathan Perez and junior Tomas Refogio were second-team selections.

Rancho Alamitos senior Victor De Rosas was the Garden Grove League MVP, while Loara senior Freddy Rodriguez earned Defensive MVP honors.
