High School Roundup: Ocean View boys’ soccer snaps losing streak versus Costa Mesa

The Ocean View High School boys’ soccer team kept Costa Mesa off the scoreboard on Monday, playing the visitors to a scoreless draw to snap its season-opening losing streak.

Ocean View (0-6-1) kept a clean sheet defensively for the first time this season, with Jayden Trujillo in goal to record the shutout.

Ethan Smithlin and Kevin Perez split the goalkeeping duties for Costa Mesa (2-5-2).

Santa Ana Valley 3, Fountain Valley 0: The Barons dropped to 1-2-1 on the season following Monday’s nonleague match at home.

Fountain Valley plays host to Segerstrom on Friday.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Pacifica Christian Orange County 69, Whittier Christian 16: The Tritons scored 30 points in the first quarter and never looked back in Monday’s nonleague game at home.

Addison Deal had a team-high 24 points and 10 assists for Pacifica Christian (6-3). Annika Jiwani added 11 points, six rebounds and four assists, and Jamie Mackay chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds.

San Pedro Rolling Hills Prep 49, Corona del Mar 31: The host Sea Kings suffered their fifth straight loss on Monday in a nonleague game.

CdM dropped to 1-6 overall.
