Griffin Naess threw a complete game for the Laguna Beach High School baseball team in Thursday’s 2-1 home win over Marina in a Wave League game.

Naess allowed one earned run on four hits. He walked one and struck out eight batters.

Tyler Montgomery and Max Burchi each had a hit and a run batted in for Laguna Beach (12-10, 4-3 in the Wave League), which moved within a game of first-place Corona del Mar (15-9, 5-2) with two league games remaining.

The Breakers and Sea Kings play each other twice next week to close out Wave League play — Wednesday at Laguna Beach and Saturday at CdM.

Tyler Wilson allowed one earned run in six innings Thursday for Marina (7-16, 2-5). Joey Murphy had an RBI.
