Breakers continue hold on top spot
The Laguna Beach High boys’ water polo team continues to head the CIF Southern Section Division 3 poll. The Breakers are again ranked No. 1. The rest of the top 10 is Palos Verdes, Damien, Mira Costa, La Canada, Capistrano Valley, Aliso Niguel, Santa Monica, El Segundo and South Pasadena. Laguna travels next Thursday to face No. 2 Palos Verdes.
In girls’ volleyball, Laguna fell from second to fifth in this week’s Division 1-A poll. Marymount, No. 3 a week ago, took over the top spot and former No. 1 Redlands East Valley is now ranked second. Corona del Mar moved up from fourth to third and Vista Murrieta is ranked fourth. The Nos. 6-10 spots went to El Dorado, Los Osos, Notre Dame Academy, San Luis Obispo and Saugus and Murrieta Valley tied for the No. 10 spot.
In boys’ cross-country, Laguna is ranked eighth in Division 4. The poll is headed by Bosco Tech followed by Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks, JSerra, Crespi, Harvard/Westlake, Maranatha, Oaks Christian, Laguna Beach, Salesian, Big Bear, Murrieta Mesa, Rosamond and L.A. Baptist.
