Boys’ Tennis: Laguna set to defend league title
The Laguna Beach boys’ tennis team, coming off a championship season, is set to open its 2015 campaign next week.
The defending Orange Coast League champs return eight players — seven of whom achieved league honors including MVP Ryan Gee, from a squad that last spring reached the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs.
Below is a capsule look at the 2015 Breakers who begin their season with a 3 p.m. nonleague game next Thursday at El Toro.

Coach’s take: “We are a very young team, with three freshmen, three sophomores, six juniors and only one senior,” Davis said. “It will take some time to get the doubles going, but they’re a talented group, so I’m very excited about our prospects come CIF.”
