Rotary rallies for Little League win

Laguna Beach Little League Rotary overcame a two-run deficit Tuesday against the visiting Laguna Niguel Red Sox by battling back for a 6-4 victory at Riddle Field.

Rotary was down early but scored four runs in the third inning, then held on for the win. Steven Gallegos’ perfectly executed bunt led to some runs to spark Rotary. Pitching and defense was the key for Rotary. Jack Payne (two innings) and Cooper Noriega (five innings) starred on the mound. Spectacular defensive plays were recorded by several players, including Sol McDermott at second base, Riley Gapp in center field, Jack Payne behind the plate and Nolan Naess at shortstop.

The win put Rotary at 7-2.
