Corona del Mar 67, Northwood 44

CORONA DEL MAR — Clayton Ragsdale had 17 points, including four three-pointers, and six assists for the Sea Kings in their Pacific Coast League opener Friday.

Marcus Bradley had 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Danny Cheek scored 14 points for CdM (9-6, 1-0 in league), which plays at Irvine Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Estancia 62, Los Amigos 34

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Senior guard Davon Joyner had 20 points as the Eagles eased to the nonleague win Friday night at Los Amigos High.

Junior center Rashad Davis added 10 points and nine rebounds for Estancia (9-8), which has won four straight games.

The Eagles open Orange Coast League play at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at home against Laguna Beach.

Costa Mesa 60, Santa Ana Valley 38

SANTA ANA — Andrew Albers had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Mustangs in the nonleague game Friday.

Nick Hefner had 11 points and Jake Comer had nine points for Costa Mesa (6-10).

Marina 46, Newport Harbor 43 (OT)

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Senior guard Craig McKennon had a career-high 17 points for the Sailors in their Sunset League-opening loss Friday night at Marina High.

The Sailors were up late in regulation, but the Vikings hit a tying three-pointer with six seconds left. Newport Harbor then missed a shot in transition before the game got away in overtime.

Senior center Cody Caldwell had 11 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks for the Sailors (7-8, 0-1 in league).

Crean Lutheran 50, Sage Hill 48

IRVINE — Mark Loper had 18 points for the Lightning in the Academy League road game Friday.

Sage Hill (12-4, 1-1 in league) led by eight in the third quarter, but was plagued by turnovers down the stretch.

Crean Lutheran is 1-1 in league.

Corona del Mar 2, Northwood 0

CORONA DEL MAR — Brian Ford and Conor Roche scored a goal each for the Sea Kings in their Pacific Coast League opener Friday.

Austin Pollard assisted on Ford’s goal and Reed Wolonsky got the assist on Roche’s goal.

Goalie Marcell Masinelli had two saves in his shutout for CdM (9-0-5, 1-0 in league). Connor Gaal, the team’s starting goalie, sat out because of a red card in the previous game.

CdM will play at Irvine Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.

Sage Hill 6, Crean Lutheran 0

NEWPORT COAST — Taylor Ross and Will Burns scored two goals each for the Lightning in the Academy League game Friday.

Ross also had an assist, while Colton Gyulay produced a goal and an assist for Sage Hill 4-2-2, 1-0-1 in league). Eric Cheng also scored a goal.

Ross’ goals came in the first half that helped Sage take a 4-0 lead. Burns scored twice in the second half. Kam Fuji led a strong defensive effort. Goalies Adam Ellingson and Mason Weinstein were never challenged as Sage dominated the action.

The Lightning will play host to Oxford Academy Tuesday at 5 p.m.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Sage Hill 41, Crean Lutheran 29

IRVINE — Zoe Kreitenberg scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Lightning in the Academy League game Friday.

Ava Soleimany had 16 points. She hit seven for eight from the free-throw line in fourth quarter.

Sage Hill (8-5, 1-1 in league) will play host to Orangewood today at 6 p.m.

Northwood 43, Corona del Mar 32

CORONA DEL MAR — Senior Kayla Marolt finished with nine points in the Sea Kings’ Pacific Coast League opener Friday.

Melanie de Arakal had seven points for CdM (9-8, 0-1 in league).

IRVINE — Brenna Vanhoogenstyn and Sofia Herzlinger stood out in the midfield for the Lightning in the Academy League game at Concordia University Friday.

Alexa Thomas had three saves for Sage (6-5-1, 1-1 in league).

Estancia 11, Saddleback 5

SANTA ANA — Sophomore Ilene Umansky had seven goals for the Eagles in a pool-play game at the Santa Ana Valley Tournament Friday.

Kylie Carpenter finished with three goals for Estancia (6-10).
