NAC shines in LB

Rowing teams from the Newport Aquatics Center came in first place in 12 races at the Presidents’ Day Regatta in Long Beach on Feb. 18.

The Newport Beach team raced against five teams from Oakland, Long Beach and San Diego in 40 races at the junior rowing competition at Marine Stadium.

The NAC girls’ freshman 8-plus team won first place in a race. The team featured: Emma Vujnovich, Laine Ortiz, Kate Yeomans, Shelby Rogers, Natalie Batista, Dora Klein, Katie Conway, Katya Farinsky, and Jacqueline Carr.

The NAC Novice boys’ A 8-plus also won.

That team featured: Spencer Cornman, Ethan Fichtner, Jordan Miller, Collin Griffitts, Gordan Lewis, Benton Carpenter, Steven Sprecher, Cameron Abel and Dayton Cribbs.
