UC Irvine def. Pacific
STOCKTON — Kevin Tillie had a match-high 19 kills and nine digs to help lead the No. 3-ranked Anteaters to a 25-18, 24-26, 25-17, 25-19 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation victory Friday.
Carson Clark added 17 kills and Jeremy Dejno had 14 kills for UCI (13-3, 9-3 in the MPSF). Chris Austin led the Anteaters with 56 assists and Michael Brinkley had a match-high 11 digs.
No. 12-ranked Pacific is 5-12, 3-9.

IRVINE — The Lasers defeated the Pirates, 25-18, 20-25, 25-23, 26-24, in a Pacific Coast Conference match on Friday.
OCC dropped to 4-4, 1-1 in conference. IVC is 3-5, 1-1.

Doubleheader
COSTA MESA — Elizabeth Archer went a combined five for seven to help Vanguard sweep nonconference visitor Felician of New Jersey, 7-5, and, 5-0.
Kari Bergerson went two for three with three runs and two runs batted in, while Breanne Gomez went two for three with two RBIs to lead the Lions to the 7-5 win in the first game.
Archer was three for three with two runs and an RBI in the nightcap, when Adriana Venezia went two for three with two RBIs and Gomez went two for three with two RBIs.
Vanguard is 12-9. Felician is 0-4.

QTI Baylor Classic
WACO, Tex. — UC Irvine split games Friday, shutting out Lamar University, 17-0, before falling to host Baylor, 4-2, in the nightcap.
Kyle Hooper pitched his first career complete-game shutout in the opener for the Anteaters (5-3), also striking out a career-high 10 batters. Jordan Fox was four for seven with a career-high six runs batted in, and Christian Ramirez tied his best with four RBIs on a pair of hits.
D.J. Crumlich was three for six with three runs scored, and Connor Spencer was three for five with a pair of RBIs.
The Anteaters bats were silenced in the nightcap against No. 25 Baylor, as UCI was held to one run on four hits by Bear starter Josh Turley. Ramirez and Jeff Stephens had two hits apiece for the ‘Eaters.
UCI continues tournament play with another game against Baylor on Saturday at 4 p.m. Pacific time.

COSTA MESA — J.T. Truhett and Eric Sanchez both had hits for the Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Friday.
David Kiriakos and Alec Rosales had two runs batted in each for Vanguard 8-4, 0-2 in conference).
Concordia, ranked No. 2 in the NAIA, is 11-5, 5-1.

IRVINE — Fabian Matthews, a former Corona del Mar High standout, was unable to play No. 1 singles in the Anteaters’ nonconference match on Friday.
UCI (1-10) plays host to Texas Tech on March 12.
