NEWPORT BEACH — Reese Stalder was named singles MVP and doubles MVP with Troy Arnold as they helped Newport Harbor win the championship Saturday at the Tennis Club Newport Beach.

The Sailors beat Oaks Christian, 7-2, host Sage Hill, 7-2 and Tesoro 7-2. Oaks Christian came in second and Sage Hill was third.

Newport Harbor’s Christian Lee, Mathew Searcy and Charles Rados were named to the all-tournament team, as were Sage Hill’s Ryan Lee and Eric Magliarditi.

Corona del Mar 8, Ayala 1

CHINO HILLS — Andrew McCormack, who earned the pitching win, went two for four with one run and a run batted in for the Sea Kings Saturday.

McCormack pitched five innings allowing three hits during the pool-play game of the Newport Elks Tournament’s Foothill Division.

Brett Thompson (three for four, two runs, two doubles), Aaron White (two for three, two runs), Max Stone (two for three, four RBIs, two doubles) and Brent Lawson (two RBIs, two runs, triple) also contributed for CdM (2-0).

The Sea Kings play host to Savanna Monday at 3 p.m. to conclude pool play.

Estancia 5, Valley Christian 3

CERRITOS —Alex Trancoso and Brodie Pearce both went two for four with a run scored for the Eagles in a pool-play game of the Newport Elks Tournament’s Costa Mesa Division Saturday.

Andres Hernandez pitched seven innings. He struck out two, walked none and allowed four hits and one earned run for Estancia (2-0).

The Eagles play host to Murrieta Mesa Monday at 3 p.m. to close out pool play.

Sage Hill 11, Bolsa Grande 1

GARDEN GROVE — Freshman Kellen Ochi, who pitched a complete game, went two for four with three runs for the Lightning in the pool-play game of the Newport Elks Tournament’s OC Division Saturday.

Ryan Fishel (three for four, two runs, one run batted in and a double), Michael Yorita (three for four, one run, one RBI), Brett Dunlavey (two for three, three RBIs, two runs), Jack Bick (two for four, two RBIs, one double) and Brandon Zelner (two for five, one run one RBI) also contributed for Sage Hill (1-1).

The Lightning play at Warren of Downey Monday at 3 p.m. to close out pool play.

WHITTIER — Austin McArdle had two hits for the Mustangs in their pool-play game of the Newport Elks Tournament’s OC Division Saturday.

Costa Mesa (0-2) plays host to Magnolia Monday at 3 p.m. to conclude pool play.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

El Toro 12, Newport Harbor 6

LAKE FOREST — Junior Ritter Hagadorn scored twice for the Sailors in the nonleague game Saturday.

Seniors Alex Opyd and Matt Porteous, as well as juniors Brian Team and Riley Robinson also scored for Newport Harbor (0-2).

Defensively, the Tars were led by Jack Murrel (five ground balls, three take aways, three knock downs) and Andrew Wilson (two GBs, four TAs, four KDs).

The Sailors play at St. Margaret’s Wednesday at 7 p.m.
