Knapp wins Millikan Tournament

Long Beach Millikan Tournament
LONG BEACH — Estancia High junior Jake Knapp won the tournament for the second straight year after beating Taylor Hood of Corona Santiago in a card-off Monday at El Dorado Park Golf Course.
Knapp and Hood both shot even-par 72. They tied on the front nine and tied on the back nine. They had the same score on the course’s 1-handicap hole. But Knapp birdied the 2-handicap hole, No. 13, and Hood made par.
Estancia scored 322 to finish fourth out of 11 teams in the tournament that had four-player teams.
Cortland Lee (79), Aaron Wood (84) and Jake Stone (87) also scored for the Eagles.
Santiago won the tournament, scoring 296.

MISSION VIEJO — Carter Norris shot even-par 36 to earn medalist honors for the Sailors in the nonleague match Monday Arroyo-Trabuco Golf Club.
Marcus Kiel (38), Zach Eddy (38), Brad Tapfer (40) and Connor Davison (43) also scored for Newport Harbor (2-4).

ORANGE — Sophomore Robert Marrone won two sets in No. 1 singles for the Eagles in a nonleague match Monday.
Dave Cornelius and Matt Thomas won two sets in No. 1 doubles for Estancia (2-5).
The Eagles play at Ocean View today at 3 p.m.
