COSTA MESA — Sophomore Celia Duran scored 20 points for the host Eagles, who clinched a guaranteed berth into the CIF Southern Section playoffs in the Orange Coast League game Monday.

Giana Jason and Bryanna Vernon had 11 points each for Estancia (14-11, 6-3 in league), which can finish no worse than third place.

Estancia is tied with Costa Mesa for second place heading into Wednesday’s home date with its crosstown rival at 7 p.m.

SANTA ANA — Nancy Aguilar had 20 points and seven steals and Molly Settles added 15 points and five steals for the visiting Mustangs in the Orange Coast League game Monday.

The win keeps Costa Mesa in a second-place tie with Estancia and clinches a guaranteed berth into the CIF southern Section playoffs.

Costa Mesa visits Estancia on Wednesday at 7 p.m. to decide second place.

Marlene Calderon and Alondra Guzman had goals for the winners (8-8-5, 3-2-4 in league), for whom Elda Barrios added one assist.

Ferny Perez had one save to earn the shutout.
