Briefs: GK signs

Orange Lutheran High senior Corey Tobin, a three-time All-Trinity League goalkeeper, has signed a letter-of-intent to play next season for the UC Irvine women’s soccer team.

“[Tobin] was the top goalkeeper on our recruiting list for 2012 and we were thrilled that she chose UC Irvine,” UCI Coach Scott Juniper said. “At 5-foot-11, [Tobin] has all the tools to be a well-rounded goalkeeper and will challenge our returners for the starting spot.”

Tobin had produced eight shutouts and 13 victories for Orange Lutheran’s Lancers through 22 contests this season as of Friday.
