College Baseball: UCI’s Morales honored

UC Irvine junior Andrew Morales was named was named Big West Conference Pitcher of the Week after blanking Hawaii on one hit through seven innings on Sunday.

Morales, who lost a perfect game on a single to open the seventh inning, struck out six and threw 75 pitches to improve to 7-0 and lower his earned-run average to 1.81.

Morales helped UCI close out a three-game sweep of Hawaii.
