SANTA CLARITA — Alec Rosales had a pinch-double to drive in the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning of the visiting Lions’ 3-2 win over The Master’s in the first of two Golden State Athletic Conference contests Thursday.
TMC prevailed, 14-1, in the second game as Vanguard’s record is now 18-16, 8-14 in conference.
David Kiriakos had two hits and one run batted in in the first game, in which Vanguard teammate J.T. Truhett was two for four.
Gabe Garcia allowed four hits and two runs in 7 1/3 innings in the opener.
Kevin Ponzo worked 1 2/3 scoreless relief innings to earn the win and improve to 3-0.
Bryce Arroyo was two for three with one RBI and Henry Yates was two for three for the Lions in Game 2.
The Master’s is 29-15, 14-12.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
Orange Coast 5, Mt. San Antonio 4
COSTA MESA — Freshmen Nory Call and Nicole Pham won in singles and doubles to pace the host Pirates in the nonconference match Thursday.
Call and Pham had straight-set wins at Nos. 4 and 5 singles, respectively.
Call paired with Krystal Hernandez to post an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles, while Pham and partner Claire Crossman earned an 8-5 triumph at No. 3 doubles.
OCC improved to 9-4.

Sacramento State 5, UC Irvine 1
SACRAMENTO — Marivick Mammit posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles for the visiting Anteaters’ lone point in a nonconference match Thursday.
UCI had its five-match win strek snapped to fall to 13-6.
The Hornets are 13-9.
