High School Roundup: Daley, Tupailesa, Williams win two titles each

Orange Coast League finals
LAGUNA BEACH — Costa Mesa High’s Jennifer Daley and Ashley Tupailesa, as well as Estancia’s Persis Williams were each league champions in two events Thursday at Laguna Beach High.
Estancia senior Diana Guido won the 300 hurdles in 49 seconds and finished third in the 100 hurdles in 18.17.
Daley won the 400 meters for the third straight year, this time finishing in 1 minute, .69 seconds. She also won the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 10 inches. She finished third in the 200 in 26.95 to qualify for the CIF Southern Section Division 3 preliminaries in three events.
Tupailesa won the shot put (32-10) and discus (96-0).
Williams won the 100 in 12.64 and the 200 in 26.33.
They’ll compete at the CIF Division 3 preliminaries May 12 at Jim Scott Stadium. Field events begin at 11 a.m. and track events start at noon.

LAGUNA BEACH — Costa Mesa High senior Robert Blackwell won the 800 meters in 1 mnute, 58.69 seconds Thursday at Laguna Beach High.
He advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division 3 preliminaries May 12 at Jim Scott Stadium.

Academy League finals
MISSION VIEJO — Sage Hill School junior Harry Lubowe, the Lightning’s and the league’s lone diver, received his third straight league title Thursday at Mission Viejo Aquatics Complex.
Lubowe needed to score at least 300 points to qualify for the CIF Division 3 meet May 10 at Riverside Community College Aquatics Center.
Lubowe scored 427.15.
He dives for the Crown Valley Divers club out of Laguna Niguel and is training toward competing in college, his mother, Alex, said.
He finished 10th in the 16-18-year-old division at a regional meet in Oregon two months ago.
He finished third last year at CIF and was first alternate for the Masters meet.

SANTA ANA — Ben Beck went three for three with two runs batted in, a triple, a run and one stolen base for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Friday.
Pitcher Andres Hernandez improved to 4-2 after six innings of work. He struck out three and walked two, while giving up four hits.
Matt Jarmacz (two for four, two RBIs), Alex Trancoso (two for four, stolen base), Brodie Pearce (two for three, two runs, double, triple), Jackson Letterman (one for two, run, stolen base, two walks) and Tyler Rios (one for three, run, RBI, stolen base) also contributed for Estancia (15-8, 10-3 in league).
The Eagles play host to rival Costa Mesa on Tuesday at 3:15 pm.

IRVINE — The Sea Kings led 6-2 through 4 innings, but the Warriors used a 14-run fifth inning to grab the Pacific Coast League win Friday at Ryan Lemmon Park.
Aaron White was two for four with a double and Hunter Cohen went two for three with two runs batted in for CdM (14-10, 7-6 in league).
