Men’s Tennis: Kilchhofer named GSAC Player of the Year
Vanguard University freshman Stefan Kilchhofer has been named Player of the Year and the Lions’ Mattias Johansson is Coach of the Year in Golden State Athletic Conference men’s tennis for 2013.
Vanguard sophomore captain Roger Muri is also on the all-conference team for the Lions (22-0), who won the conference regular-season and tournament titles and take a No. 3 national ranking into the NAIA championships beginning Tuesday in Mobile, Ala.
Kilchhofer was 22-0 in singles and did not lose a set in the regular season, while Muri was 21-0. Kilchhofer was 17-3 with various doubles partners, while Muri was 20-2 with multiple partners.
The Lions open the NAIA tournament on Tuesday against either Warner of Florida or Oklahoma Baptist.
