IRVINE — Sophomore outside hitter Halland McKenna had 10 kills, 16 digs and two aces to help lead the Lightning to a 25-11, 25-23, 25-21 nonleague win Friday.

Senior outside hitter Maggie Danner added eight kills, two blocks and one ace and sophomore setter Maddy Abbott had 31 assists, two kills and three aces for Sage Hill (3-0).

NEWPORT BEACH — Tristen Thompson had 11 kills and four digs and Carolyn Bockrath had 11 kills and three blocks to help lead the Sailors to a 25-11, 25-21, 25-23 nonleague win Friday.

Torey Thompson (35 assists), Logan Grove (four kills), Hunter Jennings (seven digs) and Nicky Fitzsimons (three aces) also contributed to the win for Newport Harbor (1-1).

Tustin def. Estancia

TUSTIN — Freshman Emma Griffith had 16 kills for the Eagles, but Tustin won the nonleague match, 24-26, 25-23, 26-24, 21-25, 15-9 Friday.

Junior Chloe Davis added 15 kills for Estancia (1-1).

GIRLS’ TENNIS

California Tennis Classic

FRESNO — Corona del Mar split in its two matches, beating Danville, 6-1, in the first round, and then falling to Menlo, 4-3, Friday.

The sea Kings will play in the fifth-place bracket Saturday, starting against Buchanan at 8:30 a.m.

Lauren Thaxter, Olivia Dajee, Kenzie Purcifull and Riley Gerdau all won in singles against Danville.

CdM won three doubles sets against Menlo, with wins from Purcifull and Gerdau; Siena Sharf and Sophia Chen; and Kimmia Naaseh and Taylor Fogarty.
