CORONA DEL MAR — Senior Reid Chase scored seven goals to lead the host Sea Kings in the nonleague contest Friday.

Senior Colby Watson had three assists and one goal and senior Jack Harryman chipped in one goal and three steals for CdM (1-0), ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division 1.

Foothill (1-2) is ranked No. 3 in CIF Division 2.

CdM, which received 10 saves from Patrick McKenzie, will visit Long Beach Wilson, ranked No. 6 in CIF Division 1, on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. Long Beach Wilson defeated CdM, 7-6, in the CIF Division 2 title match last season.

Estancia 17, Rancho Alamitos 5

COSTA MESA — Jacob Sperling scored five goals and Hayden Swift added four goals for the Eagles in the nonleague game Friday.

Niko Ridge and Sean Fisher scored three goals, Riley Brockman had two goals and goalie Garrett Henscheid made five saves for Estancia (1-2).

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Sage Hill def. Ocean View

NEWPORT COAST — Sophomore Kekai Whitford had eight kills, eight assists, six digs and one assist to lead the host Lightning to a 25-16, 25-22, 25-16 nonleague win on Friday.

Halland McKenna had 11 kills, 11 digs and two aces, while senior setter Dina Aluzri had seven assists and junior Allie Mowrey had five digs, two aces and a strong passing performance.

Sage (4-1) is at Calvary Chapel on Monday.

Durango Fall Classic

LAS VEGAS — Corona del Mar High won its three-team pool and its championship bracket play-in game Friday.

The Sea Kings beat St. Mary’s 25-18, 25-16 in the championship bracket play-in game. They defeated Galena, 25-13, 25-15, and El Dorado, 25-9, 25-17, in pool play.

Newport Harbor finished last in its three-team pool and won its third-place bracket play-in game.

The Sailors ended their day with a 25-15, 25-22 win over Wilson.

Rim of the World beat Newport, 25-15, 25-22, and Lakewood earned a 26-24, 25-22 win over the Sailors.

Bracket play continues Saturday.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Sage Hill 17, Whitney 1

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Liana Korber swept at love at No. 1 singles for the Lightning in their Academy League opener Friday.

Sophomore Amira Tarsadia swept at No. 2 singles, dropping only two games and sophomore Natalie Meltzer also swept, losing only five games.

Seniors Kimberly Brown and Molly Wang swept in doubles, dropping just four games while senior Lauren Hsu and freshman Jaclyn Gerschultz swept losing only two games.

Sage Hill, ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division 2, plays at JSerra on Monday.
