SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Newport Harbor High advanced to the semifinals after topping Dana Hills, 7-5, in a quarterfinal match Friday at JSerra High.
Ryan Warde had a team-high three goals for the Sailors (6-0), and Curtis Fink had two goals, two assists and two steals. Mitch Mendoza and Dan Stevens also scored for Newport, and Wyatt Muller made seven saves.
Newport Harbor, ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division 1, plays No. 3 Loyola in a tournament semifinal at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at CdM. The tournament title match is scheduled for 4:05 p.m., also at CdM.

COSTA MESA — Jacob Sperling and Hayden Swift scored six goals each for the Mustangs in the nonleague game Friday.
Goalie Garrett Henscheid made three saves for Estancia (2-3).

NEWPORT BEACH — Newport Harbor won its three-team pool in Division 1 with wins over La Canada, 25-7, 25-16, and Orange Lutheran, 25-23, 25-21, Friday at Newport Harbor.
Logan Grove (seven kills), Carolyn Bockrath (six kills), Tristen Thompson (four kills), Hunter Jennings (eight digs) and Torey Thompson (25 assists) contributed in the win over La Canada.
Tristen Thompson (12 kills), Gabby Shelly (eight kills) and Torey Thompson (37 assists) stood out against Orange Lutheran.
The Sailors (9-3) begin championship bracket play Saturday at 10;15 a.m. at Edison.

HUNTNINGTON BEACH — Sage Hill split its matches playing for the first time in Division 1 of the tournament Friday at Edison.
Halland McKenna had 14 kills and five digs to lead the Lightning past Capistrano Valley, 25-20, 25-22. Defensive specialist Allie Mowrey came off the bench to contribute four aces and six digs.
Los Alamitos beat Sage Hill 25-17, 25-9, in pool play. McKenna had five kills and Sophie Gordon had two aces and two digs for the Lightning (6-2).
Sage Hill begins Saturday with its final game of pool play against Los Osos at 8 a.m.

COSTA MESA — Eileen Umansky had 39 assists for the Eagles, but the Vaqueros won the nonleague match, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 20-25, 15-10, Friday.
Abby Griffith had 14 kills for Estancia (5-7).

Dana Hills Coastal Championship
IRVINE — Corona del Mar High split its matches Friday at University High, falling to San Marino, 8-0, before topping University’s No. 2 team, 5-3.
The Sea Kings lost all three doubles sets against Uni but rallied in singles. Olivia Dajee, Kenzie Purcifull, Riley Gerdau, Sophia Chen and Siena Sharf all won in singles as CdM earned the win.
CdM closes out the tournament Saturday, playing Iolani of Hawaii at 9:30 a.m., then Menlo of Northern California at 11:30 a.m. Both matches are at Capistrano Valley High.
