Rachel Wood converted a penalty kick to open the scoring for UCI (6-7, 2-0 in conference).

Mady Solow had an assist on the game-winner to drop UCR to 5-6-2, 0-2.

SANTA BARBARA — No. 5-ranked UC Irvine lost to No. 2-ranked UCLA, 14-8, in the third-place game on Sunday.

Earlier Sunday, UCI fell to top-ranked USC, 10-5.

Bojan Hrlec had four goals against UCLA.

UCI is 12-3.
