CORONA DEL MAR — Britton Taylor had 12 kills to help lead the No. 2-seeded Sea Kings to a 25-10, 25-12, 27-25 victory in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division I-A playoffs Tuesday night

Hayley Hodson and Grace Kennedy had 11 kills each for CdM (28-3), the Pacific Coast League champion.

The Sea Kings will face Marlborough in the second round Thursday at a site to be determined by a coin flip.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE — Cinnamon Sary had 17 kills and three blocks to help lead the Sailors to a 25-22, 25-8, 25-18 victory in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division I-AA playoffs Tuesday night.

Kasey Thompson had 11 kills and five blocks, Torey Thompson had 36 assists and Tatum Norton five digs for Newport Harbor (22-8).

Allison Schelin added four kills and four digs, Carolyn Bockrath had nine kills and Claire Castillo had two kills and two blocks for the Sailors.

Newport Harbor will play host to Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks in the second round Thursday.
