CORONA DEL MAR — Junior Michelle Simmons had 15 points and freshman Maya Van Den Heever had 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to lead the Eagles in the consolation quarterfinals of the Corona del Mar High Tournament at CdM High on Wednesday.
Senior Celia Duran had 10 points, five assists and three steals and freshman Neffertiti Van Den Heever had 10 points for Estancia (1-1).
The Eagles play crosstown and Orange Coast League rival Costa Mesa in the consolation semifinals on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at CdM High.

Center defenders Christian Montillo and Rigie Esquivel earned praise from Estancia Coach Robert Castellano, who also singled out Jorge Mendoza and Kevin Pizarro for strong play on offense.
Northwood visits Estancia on Friday at 5:15 p.m.
