College Roundup: OCC men’s volleyball falls in season opener

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

El Camino def. Orange Coast

TORRANCE — Adrian Faitalia recorded a match-high 22 kills for the Pirates, but El Camino won 26-24, 19-25, 32-34, 25-22, 15-13, in the season opener for both teams Wednesday.

Eric Beranek had 16 kills and Nick Amado added 14 kills, while Steven Duhoux amassed 53 assists for OCC, the defending state champion.

Orange Coast 63, Cypress 53

Deion Page scored 14 points to lead the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game at OCC Wednesday.

DeAndre Page had 13 points and Brad Buchignani added 11 points for OCC (5-13, 3-3 in conference).

Cypress is 9-12, 2-4.

Nicole Beaudoin scored a game-high 17 points for the Pirates in the Orange Empire Confernece game at OCC Wednesday.

Jasmine Matar added 14 points for OCC (3-17, 0-6 in conference).

Cypress is 17-6, 5-1.
