College Roundup: Pirates come out on top

CHINO HILLS — Freshman Zach Eddy shot a four-under-par 70, helping the Pirates finish with team total of 371, good enough for first place during an Orange Empire Conference match at Los Serranos Golf Course on Wednesday.
The rest of OCC’s scorers were Michael Chen (74), Jem Young (75), Cody Kelly (75) and Marc Reyes (77).
The Pirates (12-3 in conference) are the Mt. San Jacinto Eagle Classic on Feb. 21 at Soboba Springs Royal Vista Golf Course at 11 a.m.

Orange Coast def. Moorpark
The Orange Coast College men’s volleyball team improved to 5-0 this season with a four-set win over visiting Moorpark College on Wednesday inside the Peterson Gym.
Jim Webb slammed down 22 kills and notched 12 digs, while Ty Hutchins added 20 as the Pirates outlasted a relentless Raider team, 25-20, 25-20, 28-30, 25-18. Brendan Duff dished out 52 assists for the Pirates, while Nick Amado and Scott Metrakos each had two blocks.
