Men’s Volleyball: UCI’s Saeta named MPSF Player of the Week

UC Irvine sophomore setter Michael Saeta has been named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week after guiding the Anteaters to a cumulative .317 hitting percentage in a pair of home sweeps last week.

Saeta triggered an attack that hit .433 against then-No. 8-ranked UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.

Combined with Friday’s win over then-No. 9-ranked UCLA, Saeta averaged 10.67 assists per set, totaling six kills and three aces.

No. 3-ranked UCI was 16-3, 11-2 in conference, entering Tuesday’s MPSF clash at USC.
