High School Roundup: Estancia’s Brown throws no-hitter
BASEBALL
Estancia 15, Santa Ana Valley 1
Junior Connor Brown threw a no-hitter, striking out eight for the host Eagles, who wrapped up Newport Elks Tournament play in the Orange County Division on Friday.
Brown has only allowed one hit in 13 innings this season.
Jake Brown went four for five with a run batted in and a double for Estancia, which totaled 18 hits.
Tyler Ross and Jeff Alai each had three hits and two RBIs.
Aaron Boaitey and Colin Gardner finished with two hits apiece.
The Eagles (2-3) travel to Sage Hill for a nonleague game on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

Sage Hill 3, Buena Park 1
BUENA PARK — Senior Parker Reposa earned the win for the Lightning, allowing no earned runs, while striking out three in four innings during the final Orange County Division game of the Newport Elks Tournament on Friday.
Sage Hill went 3-2 in the tournament.
Brett Super went three innings in relief, striking out seven to earn the save. Super went two for three with a double and two runs batted in.
Kellen Ochi was two for three with a double, while Conner Bock had a triple in three at-bats.
Sage Hill (4-4) plays host to Estancia on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

Capistrano Valley Christian 6, Newport Harbor 3
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Senior Logan Mahaffy went two for four with one run batted in and a double in the Sailors’ final game of the Foothill Division in the Newport Elks Tournament on Friday at San Juan Sports Park.
Jake Genova was two for three, while Rigsby Duncan had a two-run double for the Sailors (4-3).
Newport Harbor plays rival Corona del Mar in a Battle of the Bay doubleheader at UC Irvine on Monday. The first game is at 4 p.m. and the second game is at 6:30 p.m.

SOFTBALL
Costa Mesa 13, Saddleback 3 (five innings)
Freshman Haley Sheffner got the win for the Mustangs, giving up just two runs in three innings in Friday’s Costa Mesa tournament game.
Sheffner struck out four for Mesa (1-3). Ariana Morales pitched the final two innings, striking out one.
Brenna Alvis went two for two with three stolen bases and two runs scored. Freshman Paige Fisher went three for four with two RBIs, and Sheffner was three for five with an RBI.
Junior Haylee Jack was two for three with an RBI and two runs scored, while Jasemin Herrera was two for two.
The Mustangs conclude the tournament Saturday against rival Estancia.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
Best of the West tournament
SAN DIEGO — Corona del Mar High went 1-2 on the opening day of the tournament, finishing third in its four-team pool at Alliant University.
Kamehameha of Hawaii defeated CdM, 22-25, 25-18, 15-12, despite 12 kills from Augie Miller. Miller and Will Hunter each had four kills as CdM won its next match against Rancho Bernardo, 25-17, 26-17.
The Sea Kings (2-2) then fell in their final pool-play match to Palos Verdes, 25-19, 25-22. Hunter had six kills.
CdM plays in the silver division playoffs beginning Saturday at 10 a.m. at Westview High.

Alex Fuller recorded three goals for the Sailors on Thursday.
