All-League Baseball: Lightning trio honored in league
Sage Hill School freshman Conner Bock, senior Ryan Fishel and sophomore Kellen Ochi each made the first-team All-Academy League in baseball.
The trio lifted the Lightning (13-7, 10-5 in league) to a third-place finish in league and wild-card round of the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs.
Bock, a first baseman, hit .438 with 27 runs batted, seven triples and four doubles. He had a .520 on-base percentage, a .719 slugging percentage and scored 19 runs.
Bock also went 1-1 with a 4.05 earned-run average as a pitcher. He struck out 14 in 13 1/3 innings.
Fishel, a catcher and outfielder, hit .400 with 13 RBIs, one double and one triple. He walked 18 times, swiped 11 of 12 bases, scored 24 runs, and had a .556 on-base percentage.
Ochi, a utility player, batted .306 with 15 RBIs, six doubles and three triples. He was successful in 15 of 16 stolen-base attempts and scored 15 runs.
As a pitcher, Ochi went 4-3 with 4.15 ERA. He struck out 26 in 39 innings.
Sage Hill sophomore pitcher Parker Reposa, junior third baseman Harrison Rhee and senior Max Strohman, a shortstop and pitcher, each received second-team laurels.
Sage Hill junior Adam Ellingson was an honorable mention.
Harrison White of St. Margaret’s earned the Academy League MVP award.
