Irrelevant Week starts Tuesday
Gerald Christian is the 40th Mr. Irrelevant.
The 40th annual Irrelevant Week, celebrating Gerald Christian, the last player chosen in the NFL Draft, is set for Tuesday through July 11.
The Balboa Bay Resort is hosting Christian, the rookie tight end for the Arizona Cardinals. The Balboa Bay Resort will have a beach party for Christian on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Other activities during Christian’s stay include a 45-minute spin session at GRIT Cycle in Costa Mesa on July 8 at 9:30 a.m., as well as a trip to Disneyland afterward, the Irrelevant Week Annual All-Star Banquet on July 10 at Balboa Bay Resort at 6 p.m., and the Irrelevant Week Community Field Day at Jim Scott Stadium on July 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event at Jim Scott Stadium will feature the NFL’s Punt, Pass and Kick program and Play 60 Experience, and a flag football game with a charitable partner, Special Olympics Southern California.
