Tars’ Seabold commits to Cal State Fullerton baseball
Newport Harbor High senior-to-be Connor Seabold has verbally committed to the Cal State Fullerton baseball program, Sailors Coach Patrick Murphy said on Facebook on Monday.
Seabold is the first of two Newport Harbor pitchers to commit to colleges before their senior year. The other is Shaun Vetrovec, who went with UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton’s Big West Conference rival.
Seabold garnered second-team All-Sunset League and Daily Pilot Newport-Mesa Dream Team honors as a junior. He finished 2-6 with a save and a 1.97 earned-run average, striking out 65 in 60 1/3 innings, while only walking 11.
