Pacifica Christian hires Anderson (boys’ golf), Berokoff (boys’ basketball)
Pacifica Christian, a new private high school in Newport Beach that opens on Aug. 25, recently announced two coaching hires.
Jeff Anderson will be the boys’ golf coach and Jeff Berokoff was hired as the boys’ basketball coach.
Anderson worked as golf coach at Biola University and Orange Lutheran High. In 2001, he became a PGA Apprentice Professional, competing on the Golden State and Pepsi Mini tours. In addition to coaching the Tritons, he also teaches at Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine.
Berokoff, a standout at La Habra Sonora, competed for two years at San Diego State and then transferred to Cal Baptist.
He most recently coached at El Modena, where he led the Vanguards to three playoff appearances.
Pacifica Christian will have 50-60 students in its first year that will be ninth- and 10th-graders.
“I am thrilled with the hiring of Jeff Anderson and Jeff Berokoff as founding members of our Athletic Department,” Brandon Gonzalez, Pacifica Christian Director of Athletics, said in a press release. “Not only are these coaches highly qualified to develop long-lasting programs, but are also passionate about cultivating men and women with strong moral character.”
