IRVINE — Senior outside hitter Katie Craig finished with 10 kills in the Sea Kings’ 25-8, 25-18, 25-10 win in a Pacific Coast League opener on Wednesday.
Jessie Harris, Natalia Bruening, Samantha Jones had five kills apiece for CdM (8-1, 1-0 in league), ranked No. 6 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1AA poll.
The Sea Kings play host to Woodbridge on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m., before traveling to Chicago for the Mother McAuley ASICS Challenge on Oct. 3-4.

ONTARIO — Matt Brown scored six goals to lead the Mustangs in the nonleague game Wednesday.
Quinn Smith and Raymond Andrade added three goals each, while goalie Ivan Shinkleman made 10 saves and recorded five steals for Costa Mesa.

LAKE ELSINORE — Jason Chesemore, Aaron Will and Ty Kearney scored for the Eagles in Wednesday’s nonleague game.
John Leal made 10 saves for Estancia (3-6).
The Eagles return to action Oct. 1, when they play host to Sage Hill in the Orange Coast League opener.

Sunset League Preview Meet
HUNTINGTON BEACH — Junior Emily Bacon finished third in 18 minutes, 58.7 seconds to help Newport Harbor go 4-1 against teams on the three-mile course at Central Park Wednesday.
Junior Emma Buggeln was seventh in 19:19.0, senior Erin Barth (senior) was eighth in 19:23.0, junior Holly Clemence was 11th in 20:17.7, sophomore Lani Kerrigan was 28th in 22:30.2, junior Lauren Loucks was 30th in 22:48.7 and junior Kendal Marking was 32nd in 24:09.8.
Newport Harbor beat Edison, 25-32, Fountain Valley, 21-35, Huntington Beach, 25-31 and Marina. Los Alamitos defeated the Sailors, 31-26.
Newport Harbor next competes in the Palos Verdes Invitational on Oct. 4.
